Computer based tutoring programs are fast changing the way education is brought into the home. The program provides the student with immediate feedback and often allows them to access and print a model solution. However, if the student accesses the solution before completing the problem they receive no marks. Parents, teachers and students are able to print out the scores gained on any topic and therefore identify areas that require further attention.

While computer tutor programs will never replace regular one to one tuition, their use in combination with face to face tutoring may prove to be the most effective method.
