Your Motorola Razr or doubtlessly any modern cell phone is a costly procurement. Temperature changes can not only cause the cell phone to pack in working but it can drastically shorten the life span of the battery. Often just leaving the mobile on a widow sill or on a car dashboard on a sizzling hot day can be ample cause to damage it. But if you keep your cell phone away from bright sunlight and avoid leaving it where it is too cold you will cut down the risk of it becoming damaged or unusable.
Moisture is an all too frequent cause of mobile phones stopping to work from either being accidentally dropped in to the washbasin while washing to leaving it in a jeans pocket and then putting it through a heated wash in the washing machine. In the past 3 months 4 of my friends have had to buy new mobile phones due to moisture damage. One left her phone next to the sink whilst she was doing some washing up and it acidentally got knocked in. Another placed his mobile in the pocket of his raincoat during a thundershower and his pocket filled with water. The third left his mobile in his jeans pocket and his spouse washed them. The last one had his in his shirt pocket when he dropped his wallet in the lavatory of the local fast food restaurant and you really don’t want to know what happened to it when he bent down to pick up his wallet!!
Lastly shock can cause a lot of damage to a phone, usually by being dropped . Even so many clamshell phones are quite robust and can manage being dropped when closed if open however then a lot of destruction can be done to the screen, hinge and keypad. Keeping your mobile in a sensible case or on a lanyard can thwart a lot of shock damage.
